Kanye West wears jumbo shoes after he’s mocked for tiny sandals
Kanye West is setting footwear trends in a huge way — literally.
In a series of tweets yesterday that had fans LOLing, Yeezy photographed himself clad in ridiculously oversize versions of his designer kicks. “Are the slides big enough?” he wrote to accompany a photo of his feet swimming in Yeezy slip-ons the size of dog beds. West then posted a full-body mirror selfiewhile wearing the same supersize sandals and captioned the snap with a wordless string of fire emojis. Hours later, West took to Twitter again to share a pic of his feet clad in comically oversize Yeezy sneaks.
The absurdist fashion move comes two weeks after the mogul was photographed at the wedding of 2 Chainz and Kesha Ward with his heels hanging out of Yeezy slides that appeared to be at least two sizes too small. He later claimed he had been wearing the shoes correctly, in a traditional Japanese style usually seen worn with wooden sandals.
The good-humored public banter comes a day after West’s public apology for describing slavery as “a choice” in a TMZ interview this past spring.
